What benefits do PBO textile products provide, compared with other high temperature materials?

So how does PBO compare with other high temperature solutions?

PBO is capable of self-extinguishing flames from burners.  The decomposition temperature of the fibre is as high as 650°C

PBO products typically have a ~100°C higher decomposition temperature compared with p-aramid fibres. This additional 100°C provides both a belt that will work at a higher temperature over time and a greater ‘safety margin’, as molten glass and burner temperatures can vary in the glass manufacturing process.
