It is very difficult to generalise on the typical type (thickness, width, length etc) of belting material generally required for the glass industry given there are so many variable technical requirements and material requirements.
As a general rule of thumb, the type and specification of textile material and/or belting conveyor used depends on the application temperature of the process, how arduous the application is and invariably, the cost!
It is also wise to pay attention to the weight and size of the glass articles to be conveyed, belt durability requirements, the diameter of the conveyor belt rollers and any other special requirements.
If you are not entirely sure what type of high temperature textile and/or belt that you require, it is a good idea to consult your supplier’s sales team, as they will have a good appreciation of ‘typical’ specifications for the various types of application.
