Solid Woven Cotton Conveyor and Elevator Belting
Marathon Solid Woven Cotton quality is a general purpose belting suitable for a
wide range of conveying applications.
Manufactured from high quality 100% cotton yarns, normally in 2, 3 or 4 plies of thickness, but with the additional facility to weave up to 9 plies (40mm maximum thickness) for special purposes.
A comprehensive range of sizes is stocked in a natural cotton finish.
To suit customer's special applications, belts of similar construction can be woven from other types of natural and man-made fibres.
For non-standard sizes or qualities, a minimum length of 100 metres would normally be the most economical amount to weave.
Characteristics:
- The solid woven construction produces a belt which has a compact and firm texture, with an excellent resistance to ply separation combined with a high tensile strength and flexibility.
- Good fastener and bolt holding qualities.
- Has no odour, and does not contaminate other products in contact, therefore is suitable for use in food processing.
- Used extensively in bakeries because it releases dough and other mixes without sticking.
- The coarse surface will give a good grip to containers and irregular shaped items, but will run easily on flat and troughed applications.
- Will operate satisfactorily at temperatures of 100ºC, but can be used for intermittent periods up to 120ºC.
- Not recommended for wet conditions, however can be used in certain humid environments if suitably impregnated.
